I would probably not grab this book based on its cover but it does sound really interesting! Thanks for the review!

I agree with Kristen - this review paints a totally different picture than that conjured up by the book's cover. Why do publishers do this? They may be hooking in one kind of audience but they're alienating another.
Anyway, the book sounds lovely - I've been meaning to read The Letters for some time, sounds like I should acquire this one while I'm at it and have a Fiona Robyn-fest!

Yse, please ignore the cover. The book is about a late middle aged man and a dog. Whilst a handbag is mentioned it wasn't carried whilst its owner wore evening dress. This picture is a most peculiar choice. The book is lovely and well worth a read.
