Gorgeous - how could you have borne coming back? Good to have you back, by the way! Onward and upward with the books...

There is a lot here and I must come back to read it in very fine detail. I've stayed a couple of times on Lago Maggiore. If you ever get the chance Vicenza is well worth a visit too. I must go and see Catullus' villa...sounds like you had "le vacanze perfette" ( a perfect holiday)!

Actually, it is a lovely place but I am a home bird, and glad to be back. It is also rather nice round here when it stops raining! But thanks ofr the welcome Jane.

Hadriana - is that a kind way of saying that I go on a bit! You are probably right! I would like to go back one day and Vicenza, Padua and Mantova are all on the to do list. I would like to see the other lakes too.
