As you know I have a copy of this book too. I'm really pleased that you enjoyed it and that your lack of Danish history wasn't a problem - as I know nothing too! Hopefully I'll get to this book in March - I'm looking forward to it!

I do enjoy historical fiction and the more it has to do with the Royal world - the more I enjoy reading it. I do like the sound of the dark parts of the book - with Christian's insanity and turbulent behavior.I think I will check this out.

Great review. I have a copy of this book I got from a sale a few years ago but never had the chance to read it yet. I might dig it out and read it soon.

Hi Jackie _ I think you'll enjoy it. It is areally fast read - reading his prose is like ice skating. let me know if you review it and I'll add a link.

Vipula - yes, it is a good combination of a character/personality study against the back drop of court intrigues, and a moving love story.

Thanks for dropping by Mae. Hope you enjoy it.
