This sounds wonderful, Catherine. I'm intrigued by the quote about Anna-Greta and its reference to her passing away - is this just a wonderful free translation, is the Swedish idiom the same as ours, or is the novel written in English. [I have to confess to being very picky about what books I read in translation as some creak so badly!]

Alis, I thought it was very much much at the elegant end of genre fiction. Whether that is how John Ajvide Lindqvist reads in Swedish, or whether it was a rich translation I don't know.
