We have an increasing number of career novels in stock. Lots of nursing stories of course, both Cherry Ames and Sue Barton, but also books like Mary Truslove - Detective. Although heavy on the romance as well, these charming volumes show the increasing horizons for girls in the mid-twentieth century. Cherry, for example, is always off on another adventure, so much so that her stories completely changed genre in the 1970s when they were republished with mystery titles like The Clue of the Faceless Criminal (originally Cherry Ames, Camp Nurse). It is not surprising they have such a strong mystery element as Julie Tatham also wrote the Trixie Belden mystery series.
